Job Description

Zoox is developing a full-stack autonomous mobility solution and seeks a manager to lead a team of Systems Engineers. The role involves constructing the safety case for each milestone, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring end-to-end traceability for safe deployment of autonomous driving technology.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of Systems Engineers
• Contribute to the development and evolution of the Safety Case
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve the System Safety engineering process
• Perform hazard analysis using STPA
• Use STPA outputs to inform test scenarios and coverage
• Perform probabilistic risk assessment
• Identify and manage safety requirements
• Ensure end-to-end traceability and produce a closed-loop Safety Case

Requirements

• M.S. or higher degree in relevant engineering discipline or computer science
• At least 7 years of relevant professional experience in System Safety or Systems Engineering including a minimum of 2 years managing a team
• Experience with hazard analysis methods like STPA, FTA, FMEA, HAZOP, FHA
• Proficient in risk quantification, probability, and statistics
• Strong written and in-person communication skills
