Job Description

Hinge is seeking a Senior ML Engineer to build the foundations of an AI-first dating experience. The role involves working on recommendation systems, experimenting with LLMs and photo embeddings, and deploying real-time predictive models. The engineer will own and define the strategy for accelerating machine learning at Hinge.

Responsibilities

• Own and contribute to foundational models
• Research and develop recommender models and experiment with ML innovations
• Design and implement for availability, scalability, and cost management
• Collaborate with ML Engineers, Data Scientists, and Product Managers
• Mentor and educate ML Engineers
• Perform other job-related duties

Requirements

• Proficiency in Python, Java, or C++
• Experience in training and deploying large-scale ML models
• Proficiency in cloud environments like GCP, AWS, or Azure
• Deep understanding of DNN architectures
• Skills in handling and managing large datasets
• Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate complex ideas
• Strong written communication skills
• A track record of leading projects
• 4+ years of experience as an MLE
• 2+ years of experience working on a cloud environment
• 1+ year of experience leading projects
• 2+ years of experience designing and developing online and production grade ML systems
• A degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
