Swiftly seeks an Engineering Manager to lead a cross-functional product team focused on embedded and IoT hardware devices for transit agencies. The role involves a player/coach approach, combining technical expertise with team leadership to deliver impactful products. The position is hybrid, based in San Francisco, requiring in-office presence for hardware-related tasks and occasional travel.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Engineers and Product Manager to define solutions and deliver products
• Contribute hands-on and as a technical mentor
• Ensure technical excellence and rapid delivery
• Maintain physical hardware lab
• Refine onboard architecture and implementation processes
• Seek feedback and share progress
• Manage team members, fostering a supportive and growth-oriented culture

Requirements

• Experience in team leadership and people management
• Experience ensuring effective delivery of complete solutions, including embedded hardware
• Experience building software to interface with cloud and edge-based (IoT) systems
• Experience building real-time systems
