Job Description

The CDC Foundation, in collaboration with ABOG and CDC, offers a one or two-year fellowship for recent obstetrics/gynecology residency graduates. The fellowship focuses on public health surveillance research, clinical guideline development, and expertise in infectious diseases and STIs during pregnancy. Fellows are assigned to the CDC in Atlanta, Georgia, and the position is full-time with a competitive salary and benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Provide public health training in obstetrics and gynecology
  • Conduct research and develop recommendations for preventing syphilis and other STIs
  • Analyze national data sets to assess prevalence and risk factors for STIs
  • Conduct surveillance, research, and programmatic activities related to emerging infections during pregnancy
  • Present at a national conference and publish in a peer-reviewed journal

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree
  • Completed obstetrics and gynecology residency within the last eight years
  • Board-eligible or Board-certified through ABOG
  • Experience in research, scientific writing, and/or public health is preferred
