Job Description

Seeking a skilled Infrastructure/Cable Technician to install, terminate, and troubleshoot structured cabling systems, including CAT5, CAT6, and Fiber Optic cables. The role involves on-site work, ensuring high-quality installations, and adhering to safety and industry standards. Active Secret clearance or higher required.

Responsibilities

  • Install and terminate CAT5, CAT6, and Fiber Optic cables
  • Perform labeling, routing, and dressing of cables
  • Use hand tools and specialized equipment for cutting, stripping, and terminating cables
  • Conduct cable testing
  • Identify and resolve connectivity or performance issues
  • Ensure cabling meets customer and industry requirements
  • Install and secure cable pathways
  • Mount and install racks, patch panels, and equipment enclosures
  • Work with low-voltage and high-density fiber optic cabling systems
  • Follow safety guidelines and OSHA standards
  • Maintain compliance with regulations
  • Maintain accurate records of installations
  • Create and update project documentation
  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and clients

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience in cabling installation, system maintenance, and network infrastructure setups
  • Active Secret clearance or higher
  • BICSI Certification
