Job Description

Enviva is seeking a Vessel Operator to support port operations, ensuring safe docking, loading, and quality control of wood pellets.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe docking, undocking, and mooring
• Handle lines during docking and undocking
• Control room operations for correct vessel loading
• Operate heavy equipment on vessels
• Complete man overboard training
• Receive pellets and record data for billing
• Ensure safety of scale area
• Communicate with suppliers
• Operate shuttle wagon
• Collect and test samples
• Maintain QA/QC records
• Analyze equipment performance
• Keep area neat and orderly
• Operate mobile equipment
• Keep area clean of accumulated dust
• Complete safety certification
• Communicate operational information
• Enter maintenance work requests
• Escalate issues promptly
• Perform other duties as required

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
• Ability to follow instructions
• Proficient in mathematics and measurement
• Team player
• Ability to work multiple shifts
• Willing to work in various outdoor conditions
• Willing to adhere to safety rules
• Ability to perform physical tasks
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
