Job Description

Lightmatter is seeking a Sr. Staff Hardware/Software Simulation Engineer to develop simulation methodologies for hardware performance prediction. This role involves mixed-signal design, programming, and collaboration with various engineering teams to create and maintain simulation tools and frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain models in digital, analog, and photonics domains
  • Integrate and maintain a mixed-signal, co-simulation framework
  • Write and maintain code in Python and System Verilog
  • Develop automated testbenches and verification scripts
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting
  • Create and maintain documentation
  • Analyze and optimize simulation performance
  • Implement enhancements for speed, accuracy, and resource utilization
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops
  • Stay updated with advancements in simulation technologies
  • Propose and implement improvements to tools and workflows

Requirements

  • 5 years of related experience with a PhD, or 8 years with a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or related disciplines
  • Proficiency in digital and/or analog modeling
  • 2+ years of experience in Python, MATLAB, C++ or other scripting/coding language
  • Familiarity with hardware description and/or verification languages such as Verilog, VHDL, SystemVerilog, or VerilogA
  • Expertise in verification and testing methodologies
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Tech lead experience
  • Experience with version control systems, particularly Git, and issue tracking tools like JIRA
