Job Description

The Business Development Representative (BDR) role at ShipBob involves developing logistical solutions for small to medium-sized businesses. The primary responsibility is to evaluate merchant needs and set qualified meetings that convert to closed deals. The role offers comprehensive onboarding and training in sales, product knowledge, and CRM platforms, providing opportunities to master skills in data analysis, prospecting, negotiation, and consultative selling.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities weekly
  • Prospect via high volume of outbound calls, emails, and social selling
  • Identify client needs and assess their fit for the business model
  • Make recommendations to management for merchants who do not fit
  • Schedule demos with potential merchants and Account Executives
  • Achieve daily activity requirements and track merchant interactions
  • Report to manager to strategize prospecting methods
  • Consistently exceed monthly and annual quota
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as necessary

Requirements

  • No prior experience required, but internships or coursework in sales or business development is a plus
  • Experience selling over the phone is a plus
  • Demonstrate diligence and accountability
