Job Description

As a Senior Data Platform Engineer, you will design and build the foundational data infrastructure and APIs that power analytics, machine learning, and product features. You’ll develop scalable data pipelines, manage cloud-native data platforms, and create high-performance APIs using FastAPI to enable secure, real-time access to data services.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build data pipelines
• Develop and maintain APIs using FastAPI
• Design and manage cloud-based data infrastructure
• Collaborate with various teams to translate requirements into solutions
• Monitor and ensure data flow and platform service reliability
• Implement observability and alerting for data services and APIs
• Evaluate and integrate new tools and technologies
• Contribute to architectural discussions and code reviews
• Document work and champion best practices

Requirements

• 5+ years experience in platform or data engineering
• Experience in building data applications
• Deep knowledge of data ecosystem
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field
• Experience using the Python data stack (preferred)
• Experience deploying and managing data pipelines in the cloud (preferred)
• Experience working with technologies like Airflow, Hadoop and Spark (preferred)
• Understanding of streaming technologies like Kafka, Spark Streaming (preferred)
• Excellent communication skills
• Self-motivated and self-directed
• Inquisitive and detail-oriented
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Proven experience leveraging AI tools
