Job Description

The Staff Stamping Engineer manages technical and financial aspects for a group of parts and is the key internal interface with Engineering, Finance, Logistics, Quality and Manufacturing to deliver world class products on time and cost effectively. This specifically includes the Feasibility, DFM, Construction, Tryout & Home line.

Responsibilities

  • Project coordination and support for engineering and manufacturing needs
  • Approve stamping die designs and manage supplier performance
  • Manage technical aspects of products and address technical questions
  • Facilitate PCR process interaction between Supplier and Lucid Engineering teams
  • Manage internal Lucid Customers and drive suppliers for on time deliverables
  • Track and manage Press Line Trial for new dies and Engineering Changes
  • Feedback die issues to design standard
  • Develop die modification strategy and schedule for design change implementation
  • Plan and manage outsource stampings
  • Control costs after die arrival
  • Manage SPM / Quality- UP Projects
  • Schedule and monitor all NPI activities
  • Maintain documentation of internal or external communication
  • Manage quotation costs
  • Track cost approval, PO, invoice to payment
  • Assist development with new process or materials
  • Travel to visit suppliers

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Tool & Die Apprenticeship with experience
  • 8+ years of Program Management /Tool Engineering experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Experience with tandem, progressive, blanking, and transfer stamping
  • Extensive aluminum Class A, BIW and Closures experience
  • Experience with overseas Asian tool suppliers
  • Ability to travel internationally
  • Demonstrated leadership and teamwork skills
  • Working knowledge of current manufacturing techniques
  • Working knowledge of production and quality control procedures
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Effective skill in establishing and maintaining working relationships
  • Strong mechanical, time management and analysis skills
  • Knowledge of material properties and mechanics of materials
  • Ability to work with a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to remain current with state of the art technologies
  • Able to use MS Office- Excel, Project, Word
  • Proficiency in Cad software - CATIA and Autoform preferred
