Job Description

Lucid Motors is seeking a Senior Test and Validation Engineer to lead the development and execution of test automation systems for drive units and powertrain components, managing the full lifecycle of testing, leading Design Verification and Product Reliability (DVPR) activities, and introducing innovative methods for component testing.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and optimization of automated test systems for drive units and powertrain components
• Oversee performance, durability, and environmental tests for EV drive units
• Lead Design Verification and Product Reliability (DVPR) activities
• Innovate and introduce new methods for testing components
• Analyze complex test data using numerical analysis tools
• Develop and implement comprehensive test plans and validation procedures
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve product design and reliability
• Drive process optimization to reduce testing cycle time and improve test coverage
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians
• Prepare and present detailed reports on test results and recommendations
• Work closely with Staff engineers to introduce innovative testing methods

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of experience in test automation, powertrain testing, and data analysis
• Expertise in test automation tools (e.g., Python, MATLAB, AVL PUMA, REPS) and numerical analysis methods
• Extensive experience in conducting HALT, environmental testing, and durability testing for automotive or powertrain systems
• Proven leadership abilities with experience mentoring and guiding teams
• In-depth experience leading DVPR activities, including test case development and validation
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
