Upgrade is seeking a Marketing Counsel to advise and work collaboratively with teams on marketing and advertising of financial products. The ideal candidate has experience in consumer finance, excels at building relationships, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate legal risks and provide advice on marketing materials
• Maintain knowledge of relevant laws and industry best practices
• Draft, negotiate, and advise on marketing content
• Work independently while exercising sound judgment
• Develop and implement streamlined systems and playbooks
• Prioritize workload and meet deadlines
• Demonstrate a proactive and flexible approach

Requirements

• J.D. and Bar membership
• 5+ years advising financial institutions/fintech companies
• Innate curiosity and ability to learn rapidly
• Resiliency and comfort serving as a trusted business partner
• Quick adopter of new technology
• Team player with a sense of humor and self awareness
