Job Description

As a Market Operations Engineer at Base Power, you’ll play a critical role at the intersection of energy wholesale markets and real-time operations. You will help optimize the performance of Base’s fleet of distributed, behind-the-meter batteries across ERCOT and other markets.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret ISO protocols, regulatory updates, and market rule changes
• Conduct asset deployment valuation and technical analysis
• Develop white papers and recommendations to support market development efforts
• Collaborate with the real-time asset management team to maximize operational revenue

Requirements

• Strong first-principles thinker
• Deep understanding of power systems operations
• Proficient in data analysis techniques with advanced programming skills in Python, Pandas, and SQL
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to create clear, compelling data visualizations
• Ability to contribute to external communications and technical product engineering initiatives
