Figma is seeking a Director of Legal for Privacy, Data, and AI Governance to lead and build a centralized Legal Privacy and Data function, ensuring compliance with global privacy and data regulations, including emerging AI laws. The role involves managing a team, developing privacy strategies, collaborating with various teams, and advising on product features.

Responsibilities

• Lead attorney for Figma on privacy, data protection, and data use
• Manage and develop the privacy legal team
• Develop and implement privacy strategies and policies
• Lead on AI Governance best practices
• Establish regulatory response strategies
• Collaborate with teams to enhance privacy programs
• Advise product teams on privacy laws
• Ensure privacy provisions in agreements
• Draft and manage data policies

Requirements

• J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school
• Membership in a U.S. State Bar
• 10+ years of legal practice experience with 6+ years specializing in US and global privacy law
• 4+ years of experience managing teams
• Experience building and scaling privacy programs
• Experience with technology companies
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to translate legal concepts
