Job Description

Shield AI is seeking a software engineer and leader to scale and guide the Hivemind Foundations team. The team creates EdgeOS, the foundational software for Hivemind Pilot autonomy, encompassing run-time middleware, communications, and OS/security. The role involves team management, architecture, design, implementation, and ensuring product quality.

Responsibilities

• Drive strategic initiatives within core products
• Manage and grow a team of software engineers
• Oversee solutions for challenging configuration and communication problems
• Engage as a thought leader to drive high-quality software
• Ensure world-class capabilities, quality, and documentation
• Define the technical roadmap in collaboration with product management
• Communicate the status of technical capabilities

Requirements

• B.S. in Computer Science with 15+ years of experience or equivalent
• Rock-solid fundamentals in software engineering and the software development life cycle
• Extensive expertise in modern C++ and development of run-time middleware, communications, and/or operating systems
• Demonstrated ability to build, lead, train, and mentor a software engineering team
• Relentless learner with the ability to develop specialized knowledge
• Ability to recognize and address inefficiencies in software engineering processes
