Job Description

AlphaSense seeks an experienced Security Operations Manager to lead and mature security operations, overseeing incident response, threat detection, MDR vendors, and continuous monitoring in a cloud-native environment. The role involves collaboration with various teams to protect data, systems, and customers.

Responsibilities

• Manage and enhance Security Operations program, including MDR oversight, detection tuning, and incident response processes
• Lead incident response investigations, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews
• Work closely with MDR providers, ensuring effective coverage and timely escalations
• Develop and maintain security playbooks and incident management processes
• Build and tune detection rules across multiple security platforms
• Collaborate with engineering and IT teams on vulnerability management
• Partner with GRC to support audits and compliance requirements
• Maintain KPIs and metrics to track security operations performance
• Stay current on emerging threats and security technologies

Requirements

• 5+ years experience in security operations or similar roles in SaaS, cloud-native, or high-growth technology environments
• Experience managing MDR or outsourced SOC vendors
• Hands-on expertise with security tools such as SIEM, EDR, and CSPM
• Deep understanding of incident response methodologies and containment strategies
• Solid knowledge of AWS, cloud security best practices, and modern SaaS architectures
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth, and globally distributed environment
• Relevant certifications (e.g. GCIA, GCIH, GCFA, AWS Security, CISSP) are a plus
