Job Description

The Senior Accounting Manager will oversee accounting and financial operations, including financial close processes, external audits, tax filings, accounts payable, and internal controls. The ideal candidate will be a thought partner to finance leadership and have the desire to branch out into areas like budgeting, forecasting, SaaS metrics, grant administration, and strategic finance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the accounting function, including month-end close and financial statements
• Track deferred revenue, software development capitalization & amortization, and temporarily restricted net assets
• Supervise accounting, invoicing, and collections activities
• Own the accounts payable function and new vendor onboarding
• Complete quarterly revenue share reconciliations
• Manage annual external financial audit and tax filings
• Collaborate with department heads on expenses
• Ensure adherence to internal controls
• Identify and implement new systems and processes

Requirements

• 5+ years of accounting and finance experience with 2+ years in a senior accounting role
• CPA certification
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial controls
• Experience managing financial operations
• Proficient in Quickbooks, Excel, and Google Suite
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Proactive and driven to learn
• Strong communication skills
