Job Description

The Khan Academy Kids team is seeking a Senior 2D Animator with strong animation skills to bring characters, interfaces, and learning moments to life using the latest animation tools and technologies. This is a contract role of 40 hours/week for 12 months at $60/hr, with potential for conversion to a full-time position.

Responsibilities

• Bring characters and elements to life using Rive software
• Collaborate with artists, managers, and engineers
• Drive creative brainstorming and narrative strategies
• Harmonize animations with audio
• Maintain visual style and brand guidelines
• Review work and provide feedback

Requirements

• 5+ years of 2D animation experience
• Familiarity with animations for early childhood audiences
• Proficiency in modern animation tools
• Ability to balance creative vision with constraints
• Comfort working with engineers
• Excellent communication skills
• Passion for early childhood education
• Portfolio or demo reel required
