Job Description

Debtwire is seeking a private credit reporter to expand its North American coverage. The role involves generating news on deals launched by direct lenders and private credit funds, requiring an understanding of leveraged finance and the private credit market. The reporter will uncover leads, collaborate with colleagues, and potentially travel and moderate conferences.

Responsibilities

• Break news and deliver actionable intelligence on direct lending
• Investigate and write news stories
• Understand fixed income, financial, and legal markets
• Network and build contacts
• Manage time effectively and communicate clearly
• Work independently and collaboratively

Requirements

• Experience covering financial markets and/or debt finance
• Understanding of leveraged finance and private credit market dynamics
• Investigative mindset and strong writing skills
• Excellent networking and contact-building skills
• Strong time management and communication skills
• Self-starter attitude with a cooperative approach
