Job Description

ION is looking for Senior Linux System Administrators to join their Datacenter Systems team in Somerset, NJ. The team manages 2000+ Redhat & Solaris systems across multiple datacenters. This role involves hands-on support for systems hardware and OS issues, participation in significant projects, and collaboration with various datacenters.

Responsibilities

• Manage and administer 2000+ Redhat & Solaris systems
• Support systems hardware and OS issues
• Participate in significant datacenter projects
• Create and maintain technical documentation
• Handle service requests and support tickets
• Adhere to production processes and change management policies
• Work with various datacenters with remote hands support
• Work on Saturdays for production rollouts (2x per month)
• Participate in on-call rotation (1 week per month)

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator for Red Hat
• RHCSA certification
• Experience with datacenter systems (DNS, LDAP, Postfix, NTP, Puppet, Cobbler, ProFTP, Squid)
• Scripting and automation experience (shell scripts, Ansible, Perl, Python)
• Experience with server virtualization (Linux KVM required)
• Hardware experience with HPE ProLiant servers
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, NFS, Apache, SSH/SFTP, networking terminology
• Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, PRTG)
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work with remote hands support
• Must have an automobile and be able to drive to NJ data centers
• Occasional domestic/international travel
