Job Description

Thrive Market is seeking a highly motivated and energetic Senior Accountant to join their team. The candidate will maintain accurate financial records, perform daily accounting activities, and support the financial close process. Responsibilities include account reconciliations, financial closing activities, and projects to support the financial close. The role requires a strong understanding of financial statements and US GAAP, as well as internal controls. The Senior Accountant will report to the Associate Director of Accounting and work closely with other senior accountants.

Responsibilities

• Monthly financial closing activities, procedures, journal entries, and account reconciliations
• Weekly reconciliation of eCommerce activities
• Support of annual audit process
• Lead accountant for Fixed Assets, Payroll and benefits, certain accruals, and other Accounting tasks
• Contribute to department and organization special projects
• Implement internal controls through policies and procedures
• Create best practice procedures for accounting activities and recommend process improvements

Requirements

• 3+ years relevant accounting experience, Big 4 experience preferred
• Strong accounting knowledge and understanding of GAAP
• CPA or progress towards obtaining license preferred
• High proficiency in Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLookUp’s, Sumifs, etc
• Analytical mindset & ability to work with large sets of data
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and perform multiple tasks concurrently
• Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
• Prior experience in e-commerce or CPG is a plus
