Job Description

The Sr. QC Technical Specialist position reports to the Mfg Quality Engineer Lead or equivalent manager. This position provides support to the manufacturing and engineering groups in the form of inspection and review of raw and finished materials, and review of manufacturing documentation, to support the production of high quality products in a world class manufacturing environment. They are also responsible for initiation and/or processing of all non-conformances including assistance with associated investigations.

Responsibilities

  • Review incoming inspection processes for procedural compliance and recommend improvements
  • Perform and review visual, dimensional and functional inspections on components as defined by specifications
  • Use sampling plans to determine statistical size of samples
  • Identify key inspection points and proper tools/equipment for measurement
  • Use functional test fixtures for components, subassemblies, and finished devices
  • Document inspection results following GMP/GDP
  • Document non-conformances and ensure timely investigation and closure
  • Review Incoming Inspection records for GDP, Completion, and Accuracy
  • Assist engineering staff with process improvement projects
  • Communicate needs of department/company to management
  • Provide/coordinate training for new QC Technician
  • Support the Noah Medical Quality System

Requirements

  • AS (BS preferred) in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering or Technology, Life Sciences, or related fields preferred
  • Minimum of 8+ years work experience in medical device quality control role
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Experience with performing root cause analysis
  • Detail oriented and adaptable
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering DWGs, product specifications, and procedures
  • Experience with hand tools (caliper, micrometer, etc.)
  • Experience with vision systems, coordinate measuring machines, and other inspection and measurement tools
  • Ability to test components, in-process subassemblies and finished products
  • Proficiency/experience with MS Office suite programs
  • Self-starter, team builder, excellent in communication skills, organized, and able to prioritize and balance workload
