Job Description

The Quality Assurance Engineer will be part of a fast-moving team of engineering professionals who solve quality assurance problems for customized parts. The QA Engineer is responsible for assisting the Senior Director in developing the quality system following corporate policies, goals and objectives and the requirements of AS9100.

Responsibilities

  • Enhance Supplier Quality Culture by leading or participating in process improvement projects
  • Utilize quality tools to resolve issues related to non-conformances and Customer RMA’s
  • Manage supplier related NCR/SCAR/CAR activities
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and AS9100-compliant Quality Management
  • Analyze non-conformance trends
  • Problem solve and follow up on troubled orders
  • Apply engineering knowledge on supplier manufacturing
  • Assess the impact of manufactured part rejections
  • Participate in QA and RMA Meetings
  • Oversee internal production of products from a quality perspective
  • Monitor and review quality metrics
  • Assist with onsite Customer Audits
  • Support Quality Management System requirements
  • Aid Quality Control Lab as necessary
  • Interface with various teams to ensure manufacturing processes meet customer quality standards
  • Communicate with stakeholders
  • Participate in initiatives to simplify and automate processes
  • Perform work in compliance with Xometry's quality and safety systems
  • Work with internal customers to implement quality measures
  • Support all Continuous Improvement activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a related field is preferred
  • 4-6 years of experience in engineering or a quality role
  • 4-6 years of experience in a supplier-facing role
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and engineering drawing requirements
  • Capable of performing root cause analysis
  • A self-starter who can drive actions to completion
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Able to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Experience with DFMEA/PFMEA and DFM/DFQ
  • Strong manufacturing knowledge
  • Able to read and interpret CAD Models & Drawings
  • Strong time/project management capabilities
  • Understanding of Six Sigma methodologies
  • Knowledge of Process Certification/Process Robustness
  • Superior analytic and articulation skills
  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certification is preferred
  • ASQ Certification is preferred
  • Educated in statistics / BIG Data is preferred
  • Use of GD&T quality lab equipment is preferred
  • Familiar with Zendesk, Asana, SolidWorks, Tableau is preferred
