ClassDojo is seeking a Staff Analytics Engineer to join its Data Science and Analytics team. This role involves making data accessible and actionable, facilitating informed decision-making. The engineer will partner with multiple product teams, driving impact through data vision and architecture.

Responsibilities

• Make data accessible and actionable
• Facilitate informed decision-making
• Partner with multiple product teams
• Drive impact through data vision and architecture
• Own large-scale data projects
• Partner with engineering, data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders
• Understand product, team roadmaps, technical architecture, and data flow
• Mentor data-savvy stakeholders on data best practices
• Design schemas (Snowflake, Star, Data Vault 2.0)
• Create clean fact, dimension, aggregate, cube tables
• Lead design, implementation, and monitoring of data warehouses and data marts
• Write SQL window functions, STRUCT/ARRAY manipulation, and optimize queries
• Adhere to performance best practices for database engines
• Manage data cataloging and metadata
• Ensure data lineage
• Apply data governance principles
• Design systems with a test-driven approach
• Use ETL processes and tools
• Use dbt to build data transformation pipelines

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience with data/analytics engineering
• Experience with large-scale data projects
• Effective collaboration and communication skills
• Deep understanding of data modeling
• Expertise in SQL and query optimization
• Passion for data governance and metadata management
• Experience with ETL processes and tools
• Familiarity with dbt
• Experience with SQL frameworks
• Passion for data governance principles
• Continuous learning in data analytics and educational technology
