Job Description

ClassDojo seeks a Cloud Platform Engineer to improve its platform by writing, debugging, and optimizing code; collaborating with teams through pair programming, code reviews, and design sessions; seeking opportunities to improve common systems and tooling; supporting and improving build and delivery pipelines; and contributing to technical design and architecture. The role also involves contributing to better practices, processes, and teamwork by unblocking teammates, breaking down work for incremental improvements, growing other engineers, improving product and process quality, and encouraging collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Improve the platform by writing, debugging, and optimizing code
• Collaborate with teams through pair programming and code reviews
• Seek opportunities to improve common systems and tooling
• Support and improve build and delivery pipelines
• Contribute to technical design and architecture
• Help unblock teammates and other teams
• Break down work for incremental improvements
• Grow other engineers into more senior engineers
• Improve the quality of the product and process
• Encourage collaboration and psychological safety

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software experience with 2+ years focused on infrastructure/platform
• Demonstrated impact in previous organizations
• Experience driving technical excellence through process, practice, and tool improvements (e.g., test automation, CI/CD, DevOps)
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ownership mindset with responsibility and accountability
• Commitment to creating and maintaining a world-class engineering culture
• Enjoyment of pair programming
