Job Description

The Underwriting team reviews/analyzes all brands of merchant applications that come into Shift4 Payments. They will practice KYC on each account and conduct the needed due diligence to ensure each account is set up correctly and approved accordingly. Each member is responsible for their work-load ensuring productivity and quality standards are met on a daily basis.

Responsibilities

• Conduct due diligence reviews of applications
• Validate documents provided with new applications
• Manage hold queue and request docs
• Stay current with sponsoring bank requirements
• Review incoming merchant applications
• Assess application package and recommend approval or decline
• Review merchant applications
• Review and analyze credit and financial reports
• Prepare written summary analysis
• Apply appropriate underwriting criteria
• Utilize skills in problem identification, analysis, and resolution
• Assist in the completion of weekly and monthly reports
• Ensure all work in queue is completed daily

Requirements

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite
• Strict attention to detail
• Experience in analyzing financial statements
• Excellent listening, written, and verbal communication skills
• Problem solving and critical thinking ability
• Self-starter and able to handle multiple tasks
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years underwriting and/or risk management experience
• Banking experience a plus
