Job Description

The applicant must be knowledgeable in the basics of various video signal formats/frame rates, video processing, and the usage of waveform monitors. The ability to manage the camera chain and monitoring in the control rooms, hue, saturation, luminance, contrast, color space, color temperature, white level, sync, and the understanding of these parameters directly related to iris, lighting, lens type, and focal length is also required.

Responsibilities

  • Setup, configuration and diagnosis of television camera systems, video monitors and associated equipment
  • Shading and coloring techniques to ensure cameras match for proper on-air look
  • Liaison with directors and other crew members to discuss sequences, desired effects, camera movements and lighting requirements
  • Work closely with TOC and other members of the production team do deliver the required visual results for productions
  • Color correct incoming feeds with frame sync color corrector
  • Function as a robotic camera operator

Requirements

  • 3-5 Years’ experience in a large-scale studio operation in a live production environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of High-Definition camera equipment
  • Thorough knowledge in the operations of broadcast camera systems
  • Selections of lens/pedestal/pan head combinations and associated equipment throughout the camera chain is required
  • Equipment with High-Definition Cameras, a variety of lenses, master set-up units, remote control units, routing switchers, viewfinders, camera pedestals, pan heads, tally systems, intercom systems, as well as video testing equipment and scopes, is required
  • Knowledge of SMPTE 2110 routing systems
  • Bachelor’s degree from college or university preferred
