Job Description

Lightning AI is seeking a Backend Engineer to develop and scale their platform, working on frontend, CLI, API, billing, security, and integrations. The role involves end-to-end feature development, collaboration with a diverse team, and contributing to groundbreaking AI technology.

Responsibilities

• Write readable, testable, and efficient code in Go (Golang)
• Master the technology stack to deliver new features and improve system performance
• Partner with engineering and product leaders on product development
• Evaluate, strengthen, and document technical architecture, tools, and processes
• Champion software quality, implement automation, and drive continuous delivery
• Mentor and coach engineers on system design and problem-solving

Requirements

• Extensive experience writing efficient, maintainable code in Go
• Broad knowledge of backend and frontend systems, including building and scaling APIs, CLI tools, billing systems, and security protocols
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure and designing scalable systems
• Proven ability to take ownership of key features and drive end-to-end development
• Commitment to software quality, test automation, and continuous delivery
• Hands-on experience as a backend or product engineer in a SaaS technology company
• Ability to operate in high uncertainty and rapidly changing environments
