Job Description

The NYISO is seeking a full-time Senior Compliance Attorney to oversee all facets of the corporate compliance program and coordinate the compliance team. This role requires substantive expertise in various compliance areas including FERC, NERC, and others, and reports directly to the EVP, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer.

Responsibilities

• Review and enhance compliance policies, processes, and controls
• Represent NYISO in compliance-related legal and regulatory proceedings
• Develop annual compliance and code of conduct training programs
• Resolve Code of Conduct issues and handle confidentiality matters
• Oversee compliance tracking systems and attestation processes
• Assist in leading inter-departmental compliance teams and prepare presentations
• Assist with whistleblower program
• Develop expertise in relevant compliance laws and rules
• Represent NYISO at NYSRC meetings
• Oversee corporate insurance requirements
• Monitor legislation and analyze compliance obligations
• Oversee litigation and document holds

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials
• Minimum of eight years of related experience practicing before FERC or other regulatory commissions
• Experience at an ISO, public utility, energy marketing company, or PSC
• License to practice law
• Admission to Bar in New York and the District of Columbia desired
