Job Description

MoonPay is seeking an exceptional Head of Tax to establish and scale their global tax function as they prepare for IPO readiness. This role will manage the complex tax landscape of fintech and crypto, partnering with leadership to ensure tax strategy supports long-term success.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead global tax strategy
• Drive IPO readiness initiatives
• Lead tax policy for digital assets
• Oversee direct, indirect, and transaction-based taxes
• Design and maintain transfer pricing policies
• Advise on tax implications for expansion and acquisitions
• Monitor emerging tax regulations
• Lead a high-performing tax team
• Collaborate with Compliance, Legal, Treasury, and Product

Requirements

• 12+ years of progressive tax experience
• Deep expertise in tax compliance, transfer pricing, international tax, and digital assets tax
• Experience leading a tax team for a pre-IPO or public company
• Strong knowledge of payments, financial services, and crypto regulatory frameworks
• Ability to balance technical expertise with commercial decision-making
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• CPA or equivalent qualification required
• Advanced degree (LL.M. or JD in Taxation) preferred
