Job Description

Canary is seeking a Senior Android SDK Engineer to develop and maintain mobile SDKs for large hotel brands and enterprise customers, as well as contribute to their first-party mobile apps. The role requires a blend of product engineering, developer experience design, and ownership of scalable, reliable mobile code.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, development, and maintenance of Android SDKs
• Create best-in-class developer experiences
• Build features and UI components for staff apps
• Partner with Product and Design
• Collaborate with Backend and Platform teams
• Establish SDK versioning and release processes
• Improve code quality through testing and automation
• Participate in code reviews and mentor engineers
• Drive operational excellence

Requirements

• 5+ years building mobile applications or SDKs with Android and Kotlin
• Proven experience designing, shipping, and supporting public SDKs
• Strong grasp of API design and modular architecture
• Proficiency with Android fundamentals
• Experience with build systems like Gradle
• Quality mindset with testing and observability
• Excellent written communication skills
• Self-starter who thrives in ambiguity
