Job Description

Revinate is seeking an experienced and visionary Director, Data Engineering to lead their Data Platform initiatives. This role is responsible for defining the strategy, architecture, and execution of the end-to-end data ecosystem, encompassing data ingestion pipeline, operational data stores, data lakehouse, and data APIs. The ideal candidate will build and lead a high-performing team of data engineers, fostering innovation and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the long-term vision and roadmap for the data platform
  • Recruit, mentor, and lead a team of data engineers
  • Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of scalable data ingestion pipelines
  • Lead the architecture and management of operational data stores
  • Drive the strategic evolution and implementation of the data lakehouse
  • Champion the design and development of secure data APIs
  • Enforce data governance policies and standards
  • Collaborate with data science and analytics teams to optimize operations
  • Ensure the data platform is highly performant, scalable, and resilient
  • Evaluate and recommend new data technologies
  • Partner with engineering, product, analytics, data science, and business teams
  • Establish monitoring and on-call support processes

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in data engineering roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership position
  • Proven track record of building and scaling complex data platforms
  • Deep expertise in data ingestion pipelines, operational data stores, data warehousing/lakehouse technologies, and data APIs
  • Strong proficiency in Java / Scala
  • Extensive experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, GCP)
  • Solid understanding of data modeling techniques
  • Literacy in Data Science and Machine Learning concepts
  • Experience with implementing data governance and data quality tools
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
