Job Description

Contentful is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to lead and shape security initiatives across their cloud-native product infrastructure and corporate environments. This hands-on role involves managing daily alerts, applying expertise in cloud technologies, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and influencing the company’s security posture.

Responsibilities

• Lead security initiatives and drive cross-functional prioritization
• Identify and remediate security assessments for cloud-native applications
• Advance vulnerability management program
• Design and build scalable security solutions
• Develop and maintain hardening standards and monitoring mechanisms
• Lead incident investigations
• Design and maintain detection and response capabilities
• Stay current on emerging threats and vulnerabilities
• Mentor and guide others
• Support security compliance maintenance
• Communicate complex concepts to leadership and stakeholders

Requirements

• 8+ years of security engineering or equivalent experience
• Expertise with AWS, GCP, and Cloudflare
• Experience with secure CI/CD pipelines
• Experience designing and implementing security architecture
• Mastery in Python
• Exposure to Javascript and Go
• Deep knowledge securing Kubernetes clusters and containers
• Experience using Terraform
• Demonstrated success driving vulnerability management, threat modeling, and incident response
• Proficiency with authentication and authorization protocols
• Strong networking expertise
• Deep expertise in OWASP Top 10
• Working knowledge of compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001)
• Excellent problem-solving and influencing skills
• Clear and effective communication skills
