Job Description

ClickHouse is seeking an experienced engineer to join their Observability team, responsible for building and operating the telemetry platform that powers internal monitoring and customer observability features. The role involves designing, building, and operating distributed systems, ensuring reliability, scalability, and efficiency, and collaborating with other teams to improve observability across the company.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate distributed systems
• Own reliability, performance, and cost-efficiency of telemetry pipeline
• Participate in on-call rotation and drive root-cause resolution
• Build tooling and automation
• Shape observability roadmap
• Collaborate with engineering teams
• Contribute to design discussions and mentor teammates

Requirements

• Strong bias for action and ownership
• Production debugging skills and problem-solving mindset
• Strong communication skills
• Experience balancing system performance, reliability, and cost
• Ability to iterate quickly
• 5+ years building and running production systems at scale
• Proficiency in Golang
• Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, ArgoCD, and Terraform
• Comfortable with a major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Experience with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana
• ClickHouse experience preferred
