Apollo.io is seeking a Director of AI Engineering to lead the strategy, engineering execution, and cross-functional integration of their applied AI systems. This role involves owning the end-to-end delivery of the AI roadmap, leading a high-impact AI Engineering organization, and accelerating Apollo’s position as an AI-native leader in the go-to-market ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Define AI systems strategy and roadmap
• Lead architecture and deployment of agentic systems
• Oversee model-driven experiences for search and personalization
• Implement evaluation frameworks and ensure observability
• Build and lead an AI Engineering team
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Drive continuous model improvement

Requirements

• 10–15+ years in software engineering with AI/ML leadership experience
• Proven history shipping LLM-powered features
• Deep understanding of LLM orchestration frameworks
• Expert in backend & distributed systems (Python preferred)
• Experience building or scaling teams focused on experimentation
• Exceptional ability to simplify complex problems
• AI-native engineering mindset
