Customer.io is seeking a hands-on and strategic Director of Internal IT to lead and scale their internal technology operations. This role oversees IT infrastructure, manages internal systems, and ensures a secure, reliable, and efficient tech environment for a globally distributed team. The ideal candidate will be a capable leader and also comfortable with hands-on problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve internal IT strategy
• Mentor and support direct reports
• Lead cross-functional efforts to improve system performance and security
• Partner with other departments to maintain compliance
• Implement scalable technology solutions

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive IT experience, 5+ years managing a team
• Proven ability to lead strategically and execute tactically
• Experience in fast-paced, high-growth environments
• Strong knowledge of cloud-based systems and security protocols
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
