Job Description

Customer.io is seeking an experienced backend engineer to design, build, and evolve systems powering automated communication at scale. The role involves working with Go, React, Ember, and AI to deliver reliable solutions and push the boundaries of engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design and build distributed systems in Go
• Collaborate to debug issues and deliver reliable solutions
• Own problems end to end (architecture, schema, testing, deployment, monitoring)
• Share knowledge through videos, writing, and mentorship
• Leverage AI tools for prototyping and decision-making

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience building scalable, distributed systems in Go or similar languages
• Comfort with cloud-native environments (AWS, GCP)
• Familiarity with relational databases (MySQL)
• Experience with observability tooling and production systems
• Bias for action and ownership of technical decisions
