Job Description

The Director of Sales Compensation will lead the global strategy, design, and governance of all sales compensation programs as Instructure scales towards $1B in revenue. This role requires strong cross-functional collaboration and will serve as a key advisor to senior GTM leadership and the executive team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead global sales compensation strategy and roadmap
  • Translate corporate priorities into incentive levers
  • Design and deploy scalable sales compensation plans
  • Develop new incentive frameworks
  • Advise senior GTM and executive leadership
  • Drive scalable processes and systems
  • Collaborate with Finance on commission calculations
  • Conduct market research and competitive analyses
  • Manage compensation projects and process improvements
  • Maintain plan documentation and approvals
  • Create and maintain sales compensation training materials
  • Deliver sales compensation training
  • Own compensation escalations
  • Lead sales compensation committee

Requirements

  • 7+ years of sales compensation experience with leadership responsibility
  • Proficient with Salesforce, Performio, and BI tools like Tableau
  • Solid understanding of SaaS GTM models
  • Sales compensation SME experience
  • Experience managing and developing direct reports
  • Able to execute multi-year compensation strategies
  • Global compensation experience
  • Strong strategic thinking and attention to detail
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • BA/BS in an analytical field is a plus
  • MBA or advanced degree is preferred
