Job Description

Jito Labs is seeking a Director of Engineering to build and scale engineering operations, ensuring efficiency and quality as the company grows. This role involves establishing engineering standards, creating clarity in processes, owning the release process, and leading/mentoring a team of engineers.

Responsibilities

• Build world-class engineering operations
• Set engineering standards for code quality, documentation, and testing
• Create clarity and alignment in sprint planning and roadmap processes
• Own the release process with testing, monitoring, and incident response
• Enable leadership focus by owning technical decision-making
• Mentor engineers and foster team growth
• Build team culture and collaboration
• Recruit and hire as the team scales

Requirements

• Proven experience building and running engineering teams of 10-50+ people
• First principles thinking and adaptability
• Experience shipping software development processes from scratch
• Technical credibility with recent coding experience
• Startup velocity and prioritization skills
• Low ego and willingness to solve problems
• Experience with Rust, distributed systems, or high-performance infrastructure is a plus
• Background in crypto/blockchain infrastructure is a plus
