Skyward is seeking a Backend Software Engineer to support the modernization of enterprise systems for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), utilizing cutting-edge NLP and LLM techniques. The role involves building scalable code, collaborating with design experts, and improving system responsiveness and performance.

Responsibilities

• Support CMS systems modernization
• Stay updated on technology and customer experience best practices
• Write scalable code
• Collaborate with human centered design experts
• Develop back-end components
• Investigate and debug test failures
• Collaborate with various departments

Requirements

• 5+ years of Python coding experience
• Familiarity with DevOps/DevTestOps/DevSecOps
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD practices
• Understanding of scalable and maintainable pipelines
• Experience with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
• REST API experience
• Understanding of Agile methodologies
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
