Job Description

Via is seeking a State Policy & Government Affairs Principal to build relationships with state and local policymakers in the Western U.S. and advocate for innovative mobility policy programs. This role involves leading policy work in California and other Western states, researching legislation, representing Via's vision, and driving targeted projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead policy work in California and other Western states
  • Research and track legislation
  • Advocate for policies to elected officials
  • Draft official written material
  • Drive targeted projects with consultants and internal teams
  • Develop outreach strategies for stakeholder groups
  • Represent the company at policy conferences

Requirements

  • 5-10 years' experience in government, policy, and political affairs
  • Strategic thinking and execution skills
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Ability to articulate strategic objectives
  • Knowledge of government and politics
  • Ability to quickly learn new policy areas
  • Transportation/mobility policy experience is a plus
