Job Description

Axon is seeking a forward-thinking Director to lead accounting research and analysis, focusing on M&A, strategic investments, and new accounting standards. This role involves collaboration with Strategy and Corporate Development, development of accounting policies, and presentation of findings to senior leadership. The position supports SEC reporting and the earnings release process.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate accounting for potential M&A and investments
  • Create and review technical memoranda and accounting policies
  • Articulate issues and recommendations to stakeholders
  • Maintain expertise on U.S. GAAP
  • Lead projects related to acquisitions and new accounting pronouncements
  • Assist in integration of acquisitions
  • Identify and resolve US GAAP and SEC reporting issues
  • Assist in preparation of SEC filings
  • Review significant contract implications
  • Maintain internal control environment
  • Collaborate with other departments

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience with a top-tier accounting or strategy firm
  • CPA designation required
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting
  • Ability to research and prepare technical accounting memos
  • SOX experience
  • Ability to leverage AI tools
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
