Job Description

Axon is seeking a Senior DBA to build the foundation for their future data strategy. This role involves proactive architectural decisions, database optimization, and collaboration with various teams to standardize and scale data management and governance.

Responsibilities

• Own full lifecycle of database administration
• Partner with BI, Data Engineering, and Enterprise App teams
• Lead performance tuning and capacity planning
• Design and implement backup, HA/DR, monitoring, and security controls
• Support database provisioning and automation
• Develop standards and documentation
• Guide long-term data architecture and governance

Requirements

• 5+ years of DBA experience (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or equivalent)
• Strong background in performance tuning and query optimization
• Familiarity with IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.)
• Cross-functional collaboration experience
• Ability to standardize and scale DB management practices
• Excellent communication skills
