Job Description

Axon is seeking an experienced platform engineer to define and maintain their infrastructure and developer platform, collaborating with the software team. This role involves strategic vision and hands-on technical skills, with a focus on building and scaling systems for AI-powered emergency communications. The position offers autonomy and ownership within a growing engineering organization.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable infrastructure
• Architect core systems like authentication and messaging
• Implement software development best practices
• Automate tasks for efficiency
• Implement and define SLOs
• Participate in architectural discussions
• Mentor junior engineers

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• Experience in platform engineering
• Experience with distributed systems
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines
• Proficiency in or eagerness to learn RoR and Go
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools
