Job Description

Axon is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to focus on design maintenance, troubleshooting, and debugging of TASER electronic designs. This role involves addressing component obsolescence, implementing design improvements, resolving critical issues, and supporting regulatory testing for both legacy and newly released devices. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product continuity and maintain world-class product standards.

Responsibilities

• Update circuit designs for component obsolescence and improvements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for electronics maintenance
• Perform bench-level verification and performance evaluation
• Debug and analyze electronic systems
• Modify electronic circuitry using OrCAD
• Partner with PCB Design engineers for layout updates
• Develop test methods and execute verification
• Document design updates and present findings
• Update design documentation
• Share knowledge and mentor team members

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• 6+ years of experience in electronics design and sustaining
• Expertise in component alternatives and obsolescence management
• Proficiency in design changes across BOM, schematics, and layouts
• Strong proficiency in analog and digital circuit design
• Experience with power supplies, microcontrollers, memory subsystems, and communication interfaces
• Hands-on expertise in verification, characterization, and failure analysis
• Experience with OrCAD and Allegro
• Proficiency in documentation and presentation tools
