Job Description

Axon is seeking a skilled Machine Learning Scientist to join their AI team, focusing on AI applications in Cloud, Devices, and Robotics. The role involves researching, developing, and deploying cutting-edge computer vision algorithms and solutions, particularly in Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs).

Responsibilities

• Own key technical areas across CVML product portfolio
• Provide technical leadership to junior scientists
• Research and develop techniques in MLLMs, GenAI, and Computer Vision
• Design and implement MLLM models for visual data analysis
• Explore approaches to object detection, recognition, and scene understanding
• Optimize algorithms for performance and efficiency
• Collaborate with engineers to leverage hardware accelerators
• Evaluate model performance and design experiments
• Stay up-to-date with research trends
• Contribute to patent disclosures and publications

Requirements

• PhD in Computer Science or related field with 8+ years experience
• Proven research excellence in machine learning and computer vision
• Strong proficiency in Python, C/C++, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras
• Experience with ML development lifecycle
• Experience with ROS is a plus
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
