Codazen is seeking a Director of Engineering with a strong track record in leading software engineering teams, delivering digital products, and managing client relationships within an agency or consultancy. The role requires technical expertise, leadership skills, business acumen, and a focus on driving strategic growth while maintaining engineering excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor engineering teams
• Provide architectural and technical direction
• Drive adoption of engineering best practices
• Manage client relationships
• Ensure project delivery on time and within budget
• Oversee project staffing and velocity
• Own P&L responsibility for projects
• Recruit, develop, and mentor engineering teams
• Ensure adherence to standards and escalate risks

Requirements

• 12+ years of software engineering experience
• 4+ years in a Director of Engineering role
• 5+ years of agency experience
• Full-stack engineering experience
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science
• Experience leading distributed teams
• Strong understanding of agile methodologies
• Experience with API design and system integrations
• Experience managing budgets and financial metrics
