Job Description

The ACLU-NBLSA Southern Legal Internship Program (SLIP) places legal interns at ACLU affiliates in 13 Southern states to contribute to legal, policy, and organizing campaigns focused on issues affecting Black and Brown communities, including voting rights, educational equity, gender justice, and criminal legal reform.

Responsibilities

  • Legal, policy, and administrative research
  • Drafting legal documents
  • Drafting public-facing documents
  • Participating in client intake
  • Other assigned projects

Requirements

  • Current law student (graduating no earlier than December 2026)
  • Membership in NBLSA or local BLSA chapter
  • Strong research and writing skills
  • Highly organized with attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Initiative, creativity, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
