The ACLU seeks a Summer Legal Intern in the Capital Punishment Project to assist with legal and policy research, and legal writing. The intern will contribute to challenging the unfairness of capital punishment and working towards its abolition.
Responsibilities
Conducting legal and policy research
Drafting memoranda, affidavits, and briefs
Researching prospects for new litigation
Drafting materials for public education
Requirements
Completed 1 year of law school
Strong interest in the abolition of the death penalty
Excellent research, writing, and communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Strong computer skills and Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
