Job Description

The ACLU is seeking a Summer Legal Intern for its Disability Rights Program, Veterans' Advocacy, based in Washington D.C. or San Francisco, CA. The intern will support litigation and advocacy at the intersection of disability rights, civil liberties, and the rights of servicemembers and veterans, gaining experience in legal research, writing, and investigation.

Responsibilities

  • Legal research
  • Legal writing (memos, court submissions)
  • Fact investigation
  • Support in court case preparation
  • Participation in litigation, advocacy, and meetings

Requirements

  • Currently matriculated legal student
  • Completed at least one year of law school
  • Based in the U.S. for the duration of the internship
  • Excellent research and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Initiative to complete projects
